The Julián Álvarez–Barcelona saga has entered a completely new phase following Joan Laporta’s latest comments, as the Barcelona president decided to explain the club’s approach toward the Atlético Madrid striker and reveal details of a direct conversation with the Spanish club’s officials.

For that reason, Laporta stressed that Barcelona has not withdrawn from the deal, and that the offer submitted by the Catalan club remains valid until the end of the transfer window.
