Barcelona’s latest training session was far from ordinary, with another La Masia youngster joining the first-team group as Hansi Flick continues to look closely at the club’s academy talents.
The player in question is Ïu Martínez, a 17-year-old winger who was called up by Flick to train with the senior squad at the Ciutat Esportiva ahead of Barcelona’s upcoming clash with Valencia.
Martínez is a right-foon the left despite primarily being associated with the right flank. He stands out for his pace, power and work rate, as well as his ability to dribble, create chances and score.

Sports journalist Jaume Marcet has urged Barcelona supporters to pay close attention to Martínez, believing that the youngster could eventually make his way into the first team.
Reports also highlight his numbers last season, when he scored six goals and provided eight assists, while his record with Cadet A was even stronger, with 10 goals and 11 assists.
Martínez had previously been described as one of the more underrated talents at La Masia, with his speed, character and competitive qualities standing out.
Now, the teenager has received one of his biggest opportunities yet after being invited by Flick to train with the first team. It does not mean he has secured a permanent place among the senior players, but it is certainly an important step for a young player looking to prove himself at Barcelona.
