Aurelien Tchouameni has already made his feelings clear on Liverpool amid reports that the Reds have submitted a bid to sign the Real Madrid midfielder in January. Liverpool completed only two permanent signings during the summer transfer window, with one of those – Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili – remaining on loan at Valencia for the entire season. The other, Italy winger Federico Chiesa, had an encouraging full debut against West Ham in September but then suffered a muscle injury and has played just once since. Liverpool were known to be in the market for a new defensive midfielder, but decided to scrap those plans once Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi decided that he did not want to make the move to Anfield. Instead, manager Arne Slot converted Ryan Gravenberch into being the Reds’ main player in that area of the pitch and the Dutchman has repaid that faith with a series of impressive performances. But with January now underway, Liverpool have reportedly submitted a bid to sign Tchouameni as competition in that position. Spanish outlet Fichajes claim that Liverpool have tabled an offer worth £41 million to sign the France international in January. Their interest in Tchouameni is not new, as he was close to signing for the Reds from Monaco in 2022 but decided to sign for Real instead for a fee of €80 million, rising to €100 million with add-ons. Speaking to CNN, he explained: “I like both [Real Madrid and Liverpool]. I can watch Spanish games and English games. “It’s different to play in Spain and it’s different to play in England. But at the end, for me, it’s just a matter of adaptation. “I’m an ambitious person. Every time I do something, I just want to win.” Do you think Liverpool will sign Aurelien Tchouameni in January?
