On New Year\u2019s Eve, Paul Joyce from The Times reported that Liverpool turned down a \u00a320 million bid from Real Madrid for Alexander-Arnold, with the Champions League holders eager to secure his signature before the summer.<\/p>\n
This offer is significantly lower than what Liverpool would expect if the right-back were under a long-term contract. The fact that a bid was made, especially considering Real can sign him for free in the summer, shows their strong interest in finalizing the deal early.<\/p>\n
In December, The Liverpool Echo mentioned that Alexander-Arnold had not expressed a desire to leave Anfield, and it seems Liverpool are still working to persuade him to remain at the club.<\/p>\n
Ben Jacobs revealed that Alexander-Arnold has outlined two conditions for agreeing to an extension. It\u2019s worth monitoring whether discussions regarding Virgil van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold are connected. If Trent is promised the captaincy in the future, it could have an effect on Van Dijk.<\/p>\n
