La Liga have made their final decision over Dani Olmo\u2019s Barcelona registration.<\/p>\n
Olmo, who transferred to Barcelona from RB Leipzig for \u00a351 million last summer, was initially registered as a special exemption for the first half of the season due to the club\u2019s inability to meet La Liga\u2019s wage cap restrictions.<\/p>\n
However, a court recently rejected Barcelona\u2019s attempt to re-register Olmo, with both La Liga and the Spanish Federation jointly deciding on the matter.<\/p>\n
According to Fabrizio Romano, La Liga and the Spanish Federation have denied Olmo\u2019s registration for Barcelona following extensive discussions. As a result, he will be unable to play for the club for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old has made 11 league appearances this season, scoring five goals, but will not add to his tally this campaign due to the failure to complete his La Liga registration.<\/p>\n
Barcelona plans to appeal the decision in court, and a successful appeal could make the attacking midfielder available for Hansi Flick this season. Olmo\u2019s teammate, Pau Victor, has also not been registered.<\/p>\n
Olmo has been linked with a move away from Barcelona due to his registration issues, with Manchester United reportedly monitoring the situation. However, the player\u2019s agent, Andy Bara, has dismissed any transfer speculation.<\/p>\n
When asked about the links to Manchester United, Bara told Give Me Sport, \u201cTo be honest, I feel calm. It could feel strange, but I believe in [Barcelona] president Laporta, Deco, and I feel they will find a solution for Dani. It\u2019s a massive club.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cWe are not negotiating with any club. Dani is a Barcelona player, and he wants to stay at Barcelona. He has made a huge effort to be here. It was his long-time desire.\u201d<\/p>\n
