Barcelona monitors 3 alternative names to sign one of them after the failure of the Nico Williams deal

Barcelona officials have identified several alternative options due to the difficulty of signing Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams during the summer transfer window. According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is not entirely closing the door on a potential deal for Williams but is also exploring other options to strengthen the left-wing position.

The newspaper reports that Barcelona will not exceed the budget allocated for Nico Williams, which is approximately €62 million. Among the alternatives, Colombian winger Luis Diaz from Liverpool, despite being contracted with Liverpool until the summer of 2027, has returned to Barcelona’s list of targets.

Additionally, French winger Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich has also caught Barcelona’s interest in recent days, especially given his previous experience under coach Hans Flick. Moreover, the club is also considering Portuguese star Rafael Leao, the 25-year-old from AC Milan.

Barcelona does not intend to waste time waiting for a response from Williams, so they are evaluating all possible alternatives in case the deal falls through. Notably, Nico Williams was recently seen wearing the number 10 shirt for Athletic Bilbao, having previously worn the number 11, which suggests he may remain with the Basque club next season.
