Dani Carvajal Sends Heartfelt Message After Devastating Season-Ending ACL Injury
Real Madrid suffered a significant blow as star defender Dani Carvajal confirmed he will miss the rest of the season following a severe knee injury during the team’s 2-0 win over Villarreal. The veteran full-back revealed that he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will require surgery, sidelining him for several months.
Carvajal himself broke the news via social media, sharing his disappointment but also his determination to return stronger. “A serious injury to the cruciate ligament has been confirmed. I will have to undergo surgery and be off the pitch for a few months. I’m already looking forward to starting the recovery and coming back like a beast. Thank you all very much for your messages; I feel very loved,” he wrote.
The injury occurred during a challenge with Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino, where Carvajal’s leg twisted awkwardly, causing immediate concern on the field. The distress was evident as Carvajal had to be stretchered off, in tears, while the Santiago Bernabeu crowd gave him a standing ovation in a show of support.
Carvajal’s absence leaves a major gap in Real Madrid’s defence, and with Spain’s international fixtures around the corner, his loss will be felt deeply on both fronts. The club now faces a challenge in finding a suitable replacement as they push forward in the season.
