Real Madrid intervenes and gets closer to signing the expected Barcelona and Hansi Flick deal

Recent reports indicate a fierce competition between Real Madrid and Barcelona over a major transfer deal for the upcoming summer window. The German newspaper “Bild” has disclosed Real Madrid’s strategy to secure a significant defensive signing from their rivals after the current season concludes.

Real Madrid has been dealing with an injury crisis, particularly in defense, with both David Alaba and Eder Militao sidelined. The club has been actively seeking a defender to bolster their squad, initially focusing on Lenny Euro before his transfer to Manchester United. The report states that Real Madrid is aiming to sign defender Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, who has confirmed he will not renew his contract and will leave at the season’s end.

Barcelona is also interested in Jonathan Tah, with Bayern Munich showing similar interest, making the player appealing to top clubs since his signing will primarily involve covering his annual salary. Tah is one of Barcelona’s targets, and German coach Hans-Willich has expressed a desire to include him in the summer transfer market, urging Laporta to pursue the player to enhance the team’s defense.

Meanwhile, the report states that Real Madrid has initiated talks with Tah’s agents. The player plans to consider all offers in January before making a final decision about his future. It’s important to note that Tah, currently with Bayer Leverkusen, will see his contract with the club expire next summer.
