Barcelona set to receive triple injury boost right after the international break

Barcelona has had a challenging start to the season due to player injuries, leaving Hansi Flick without several key players. Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araujo, and Ansu Fati were already unavailable before the season began.

The injury list has since expanded to include Andreas Christensen, Marc Bernal, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

However, there is positive news for the team. Fati returned to play earlier last month, and de Jong has also made his comeback.

After the October international break, players like Olmo, Fermin, Gavi, Lewandowski, and Yamal are expected to return.

Additionally, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona will gain a significant boost with the return of Gavi, Dani Olmo, and Fermin Lopez right after the international break next month.

Dani Olmo has been sidelined since the Girona match, missing four games in total. The club indicated he would be out for four to five weeks, aligning his return with the La Liga match against Sevilla on October 20.

Fermin also experienced injury issues; he suffered a muscle injury while with the Spanish Under-21 team in early September. After recovering quickly, he unfortunately sustained another injury on the day he returned to training, which has kept him out for an additional three weeks. Like Olmo, Fermin is expected to return around the Sevilla match.Robert Lewandowski returned to Barcelona on October 16 for tests regarding his fitness before facing Sevilla. The tests revealed he only sustained a severe bruise on his right tibia, meaning he will be available for their first La Liga match after the international break.

This news comes as a relief for Barcelona, especially after Lewandowski was involved in a dangerous challenge during Poland’s UEFA Nations League game against Croatia, where he was hurt by Livaković’s follow-through.

Additionally, Lamine Yamal has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain and will be out until he fully recovers. Gavi, who has been recovering from an ACL injury for ten months, started training with the team this month. Barcelona plans to be cautious with his return, aiming for him to play either against Sevilla or possibly delaying until the matches against Bayern Munich or Real Madrid the following week.
