World-class Real Madrid target ‘would listen to offer’ from Man Utd if they meet one demand

Manchester United has received encouraging news in their efforts to acquire one of Real Madrid’s prime targets, as reported.

The club signed five new players during the summer transfer window, including two from Bayern Munich. They brought in Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, but are also interested in three additional Bayern players: Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane, and Alphonso Davies. Davies’ contract runs until 2025, and United is reportedly eager to secure him on a free transfer next summer.

However, Real Madrid’s interest in the Canadian international is well-known, with indications that a deal may already be in progress. Starting in January, Davies can negotiate a transfer, as discussions with Bayern about his contract are currently stalled.

While United may be seen as a long shot for Davies, journalist Christian Falk believes they could compete with Real if they are prepared to meet his salary expectations. Falk stated that Davies remains interested in joining Real Madrid, and Bayern has paused contract negotiations, believing his demands are excessive and unwilling to offer more than €20 million per year.

“If United is open to this salary, they would be a significant contender against Real Madrid,” Falk mentioned. He added that while there have been discussions with Real, he hasn’t heard similar news regarding Manchester United. “If a player like Davies is available, he will certainly be on United’s radar. If they’re looking for someone in that position, Davies would be a priority.” Notably, this interest from United comes despite Erik ten Hag previously describing Davies as “not a great defender” ahead of a Champions League match against Bayern last season.
