According to Spanish outlet “Defensa Central,” Xabi Alonso, aware of the challenge in keeping Wirtz at Bayer Leverkusen amidst interest from clubs like Real Madrid, is considering a clear strategy for his potential replacement. Alonso is looking at Arda Güler as a suitable alternative, whether through a loan—an option that Madrid is open to—or a permanent transfer to strengthen their midfield for at least a season.

While Real Madrid seems hesitant to part with Güler, Alonso views him as a prime candidate to step in for Wirtz, who is in demand from several top European clubs. Ultimately, Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez will assess Güler’s situation at the end of the season, particularly if he isn’t getting enough playing time.
