Three resounding surprises in Ancelotti’s lineup for the Clasico against Barcelona
The season’s first matches between Real Madrid and Barcelona are about to kick off, with Carlo Ancelotti’s team looking to make a strong impression by securing a win at the Santiago Bernabéu.
While Ancelotti has yet to reveal his starting lineup, there’s clarity regarding one key position: right-back. According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca,” the contenders for this role are Lucas Vázquez and Éder Militão. Although Vázquez netted the winning goal in the 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund, he was also responsible for both goals conceded by the German side.
On the other hand, Éder Militão brings valuable experience to the right-back position, having previously played for Porto and filled in for his national team. The Spanish newspaper suggests that Ancelotti is leaning towards using Militão, which would involve moving Tchouameni to center-back.
With Tchouameni in defense, Camavinga would join Modric, Fede Valverde, and Jude Bellingham in midfield. This setup would see Mbappé and Vinicius leading the attack. The player selected for right-back will face the challenge of defending against Rafinha, who has been in outstanding form for the Clásico.
