Barcelona’s goalkeeper Inaki Pena recently shared his experiences at the club and discussed his relationships with other goalkeepers.
Szczesny is an impressive individual. I only knew him as a goalkeeper for some of Europe’s top teams. On the first day, he approached me and mentioned that he wasn’t here to compete with me; the only competition I have is with myself, which really caught me off guard,” Pena shared.
He also valued Barcelona’s openness about squad decisions. “The club informed me about signing a goalkeeper, and I appreciate their communication; it speaks volumes. Relying on just one first-team goalkeeper is risky.”
As for his future, Pena maintains a calm perspective. “If Barcelona wants to extend my contract, they’ll do it when they feel it’s right.”
