Real Madrid are plotting a sensational double raid that would help them dominate world football for years.
Real had a blockbuster summer transfer window following their acquisition of Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer.
The club also drafted in Brazilian phenom Endrick, who is destined to become a superstar.
And the Spanish giants are eyeing another massive signing while also looking at a new manager ahead of replacing Carlo Ancelotti, who is contracted until 2026.
According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Real’s ‘preferred candidate’ to succeed Ancelotti is Xabi Alonso.
The Bayer Leverkusen boss is also garnering attention from Manchester City, who have shown ‘concrete interest’ should Pep Guardiola leave the Etihad next summer.
However, per the report, Leverkusen believe that Alonso will move to Real next summer.
If the 42-year-old does indeed return to his old team, it would increase the chances of a transfer for Florian Wirtz, who is on Real’s transfer wish-list.

His performances in Germany have alerted a slew of Europe’s elite, including Real, who could pounce if they hire Alonso.
Like Wirtz, Alonso is also a wanted man following his managerial heroics at Leverkusen.
He masterminded the club’s league triumph last season as they went the entire league campaign without tasting defeat.
Liverpool tried to lure him to Anfield to replace Jurgen Klopp but were unable to secure his signature.
The Spaniard played for both Liverpool and Real during his legendary playing career, with both of his old sides showing an interest.
Of course, the Reds ultimately opted for Arne Slot, but Real could land his managerial services ahead of next season.
