Premier League club ready to make stunning move for Aurelien Tchouameni in January after he was ‘transfer listed’ by Real Madrid
A Premier League club is reportedly preparing to make a stunning bid for Aurelien Tchouameni in January with Real Madrid willing to sell him.
The French international joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, later revealing that he chose Madrid over an offer from Liverpool. He reached the World Cup final with France in 2022 and was part of the Real squad that won the Champions League last season. Unfortunately, he sustained a stress fracture in his foot during the semi-final against Bayern Munich, which kept him from playing in the final.
This season, he has been a consistent starter for Real, but the team has struggled under Carlo Ancelotti. They faced a heavy 4-0 defeat against Barcelona in El Clasico at the Bernabeu earlier this month and also lost to Lille in the Champions League.
Reports suggest that Real Madrid may be willing to sell the midfielder to finance other high-profile transfers, despite having given him a six-year contract upon his arrival. TEAMtalk indicates that Liverpool is considering a renewed bid for Tchouameni, as manager Arne Slot is interested in bringing him to the club.
In the summer, Liverpool was focused solely on Martin Zubimendi for the defensive midfield position, which they are eager to strengthen. After Zubimendi declined a move, Liverpool decided to stick with their current options, though it remains unclear if Tchouameni was a viable alternative at that time. They might now revisit a player Jurgen Klopp aimed to sign in his second-to-last summer transfer window as Liverpool’s manager, marking a new chapter for the current league leaders.
