Hansi Flick Reveals His Plans for €90m Barcelona Star, Gavi
The last few weeks have been crucial for FC Barcelona, not only because of their impressive wins against top European clubs such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but also due to the return of important players to the squad.
Among those making a comeback are midfielders Frenkie de Jong, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, and Gavi. While Frenkie and Gavi have yet to start a match this season, Frenkie is set to make his first start tonight against Red Star Belgrade, and Gavi is still working towards full fitness.
Ahead of Barcelona’s upcoming match against the Serbian side, head coach Hansi Flick gave an update on Gavi’s recovery, revealing his plan for the €90m-rated player.
“I spoke with him, and we’ve decided to proceed cautiously,” said Flick. “He’ll gradually get more minutes depending on the flow of the games. He played a bit against Espanyol, and he’s been performing well in training. He adds more control to our play.”
Although Gavi has not yet returned to his peak form, Flick’s careful approach ensures that the midfielder avoids setbacks, setting him up for a stronger contribution as the season progresses.
With Barcelona maintaining strong momentum, the gradual return of key players like Gavi will be vital in determining the club’s future success.
