Barcelona have made an impressive start to the 2024/25 season under new manager Hansi Flick, currently leading La Liga with a nine-point advantage over their rivals Real Madrid.

However, in the Champions League, they find themselves in sixth place, trailing group leaders Liverpool by three points.

With the transfer window approaching, reports indicate that Barcelona may seek to strengthen their squad by competing with Liverpool for Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi. According to Fichajes, the Catalan club is contemplating a swap deal involving Ferran Torres to secure Adeyemi’s transfer.

Dortmund is said to value Adeyemi at around €50 million, and Barcelona hopes that including Torres in the deal could make the signing more affordable. However, they face stiff competition, including from Liverpool, who may see Adeyemi as a future replacement for Mohamed Salah.

### Who is Karim Adeyemi?

Karim Adeyemi, born in Munich, Germany, is 22 years old. He began his career with TSV Forstenried, Bayern Munich, and SpVgg Unterhaching before moving to Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. He made his senior debut for Salzburg in 2018 and, after a successful stint, joined Borussia Dortmund in 2022. Since then, he has scored 19 goals in 74 appearances across all competitions.

In the 2024/25 season, Adeyemi has been in great form, registering five goals and five assists in eight games for Dortmund.

### What’s been said about Adeyemi?

Following his recent Champions League hat-trick against Celtic, Dortmund manager Nuri Sahin praised Adeyemi’s work ethic but also challenged him to maintain those high standards consistently.

Sahin commented, “Karim has the whole package, but we need to ensure he brings that level every three days, in every training session. Scoring goals is part of his role, but what impressed me today was his work off the ball—that’s how I measure him.”
