Hansi Flick is planning to snatch one of Real Madrid’s most important deals in the next transfer window
Barcelona is looking to leverage its current strong form to attract top players in the upcoming transfer window, aiming to strengthen the squad under German coach Hansi Flick and compete for all major titles.
In this context, the German newspaper *Bild* reported on the growing rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid for a major transfer target at the end of the season. According to the report, Flick has given Barcelona’s management the green light to pursue a deal for one of Bayern Munich’s key players.
The player in question is Alphonso Davies, the Canadian left-back, whose contract with Bayern Munich expires on June 30, 2025. Flick is reportedly planning to secure Davies on a free transfer, but the player has not yet agreed to Bayern’s contract extension offer, meaning he will be able to negotiate with other clubs starting in January, opening the door for a potential move in the summer of 2025.
Real Madrid is also interested in Davies, and there are rumors they may have already begun talks with him. Club president Florentino Perez is reportedly concerned that Flick’s close relationship with Davies could give Barcelona an advantage in securing the player.
The report adds that Flick has already reached out to Davies, making him a promise of a starting role at Barcelona. The club’s young and ambitious project has made an impression on the Canadian international, making the prospect of joining Barcelona particularly appealing.
As a result, fierce competition is expected for Davies, who is widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world in recent years.
