French defender gives Florentino the green light after Militao’s season ends: I want to play with Mbappé at Madrid
The future of Real Madrid has become a critical topic following Eder Militao’s serious knee injury, which will rule him out for the rest of the season. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti understands the need to reinforce the squad, particularly with the tough schedule ahead. Currently, Antonio Rudiger is the only fully fit starting center-back.
Ancelotti recently commented, “We’ll evaluate the situation in the coming months as there’s not much we can do right now. Our priority is to recover as many players as possible. I’m not focusing on the transfer market at the moment because there are important matches before Christmas. My main concern is preparing with the players available.”
However, journalist Tomas Gonzalez Martin has revealed that there is a strong possibility of Real Madrid pursuing Castello Lukeba in January. He describes Lukeba as the best option in the winter transfer market, noting his physicality, speed, and versatility as a left-back — a position Ancelotti needs to fill after Nacho’s departure. At just 21, Lukeba has already made his debut for the French national team and currently plays for RB Leipzig. He is eager to join Real Madrid.
Gonzalez Martin also highlighted that Lukeba dreams of playing alongside Kylian Mbappé, which could help him integrate quickly into the team. Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez sees Lukeba as a priority signing, believing the young French defender’s talent and potential will strengthen the defense and possibly surpass Sergio Ramos in the long run.
