Barcelona star burst into tears between halves of Barcelona and Real Sociedad match

Spanish media reports have revealed that a Barcelona FC player was seen crying during halftime of Sunday’s La Liga match against Real Sociedad. Barcelona played Real Sociedad in the 13th round of La Liga at the latter’s stadium, where they suffered a 1-0 loss.

According to the Catalan newspaper *Sport*, the incident occurred in the locker room during the break. Frenkie de Jong, who had been fouled multiple times in the first half—once on his shin and once on his ankle—was reportedly concerned that these challenges might worsen his previous injury.

De Jong had been out for five months due to an ankle issue before making his return on October 1. However, he is still recovering and was understandably upset by the fear of re-injury. The situation moved him to tears, and it was noted that coach Hansi Flick intervened to console him and provide support during the emotional moment.
