Kylian Mbappé is experiencing a “delicate” period after being omitted from the France squad, according to the president of the French Football Federation.Kylian Mbappé has been left out of the France squad for the second consecutive international break as Didier Deschamps prepares for upcoming Nations League matches. While Deschamps emphasized that the decision not to include the Real Madrid forward was his own, he also stated that Mbappé had expressed a desire to be involved.
Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation (FFF), acknowledged that Mbappé is going through a “delicate” period but expressed hope that the 2018 World Cup winner would soon return to form. Diallo emphasized the importance of Mbappé’s return to his best for France’s future, particularly with eyes on the 2026 World Cup.
“I’ve had many conversations with Didier Deschamps, and I was kept informed of his thinking,” Diallo told *Le Parisien*. “Kylian is one of the best players in the world. He’s going through a tough phase, but we all hope he finds his best form quickly—like the player who made us dream in 2018 and 2022. We want him to lead us again as captain toward the 2026 World Cup and the pursuit of a third star.”
Diallo also dispelled any doubts about Mbappé’s commitment to the French national team, stating, “Every time I’ve spoken to him, I’ve seen in Kylian a deep love for the national team and full respect for the jersey. I have no doubt about his dedication or his leadership as captain.”
Mbappé will miss France’s upcoming matches against Israel and Italy, but will be focused on returning to full fitness for Real Madrid’s La Liga fixture against Leganés on November 24.
