Hansi Flick agrees with Joan Laporta and Deco on 3 free signings for Barcelona in the biggest surprise of the transfer market
Barcelona will continue their strategy of signing players on free transfers, a policy that has already seen successful acquisitions like Eric Garcia, Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, Sergio Agüero, and Marcos Alonso. In a surprising development, Hansi Flick has agreed with Joan Laporta and Deco on three potential free transfers to bolster the team’s competitiveness.
According to Spanish outlet *El Nacional*, one of the top targets is Jonathan Tah, the central defender from Bayer Leverkusen, whose contract expires in June. Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Tah will not be renewing his deal, and several big clubs, including Real Madrid, have shown interest, especially after Éder Militão’s recent injury. Flick believes that signing Tah would be a great move, particularly since it would come without a transfer fee, which could offset the potential departures of Ronald Araujo or Andreas Christensen, both contracted until 2026.
Another key target for Barcelona is Joshua Kimmich, whose contract with Bayern Munich has not yet been renewed, and who may be open to a new challenge outside of Germany. Although Marc Casado’s rise has somewhat reduced the urgency of signing Kimmich, Laporta and Deco remain interested due to his versatility and high skill level, capable of playing in both midfield and defense.
The final deal in this plan involves left-back Alphonso Davies, who is set to become a free agent next summer. Flick is particularly keen on adding Davies to his squad, considering him one of the best in his position. If Laporta succeeds in securing these three signings, Barcelona will strengthen their squad significantly without having to spend any transfer fees.
