Real Madrid star’s brilliance with his national team puts Ancelotti in a big dilemma
Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Real Madrid, finds himself facing a dilemma involving the young Turkish talent Arda Güler, according to Spanish newspaper *AS*. The report reveals that Güler, often referred to as the “Turkish Messi,” has impressed during training sessions with his skill and potential, leading to growing concerns over his limited playing time.
Despite his excellent performances with the Turkish national team, Güler has struggled to secure a regular spot in Ancelotti’s starting lineup, having played just 11 matches this season, accumulating only 292 minutes across all competitions, including La Liga, the Champions League, and the European Super Cup. His lack of playing time has raised worries about his confidence and development.
The situation has also attracted attention within the club, with captain Luka Modrić reportedly questioning Ancelotti about the decision to exclude Güler from more matches, urging the coach to offer the young player an opportunity to prove himself. Furthermore, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has reportedly given Ancelotti a firm directive: Güler must receive more playing time after the international break, or there could be serious repercussions. So far, Güler has only played 251 minutes in 7 La Liga matches, 39 minutes in the Champions League, and a mere two minutes in the European Super Cup against Atalanta.
