Barcelona keeping close tabs on La Masia talent impressing at his loan club
Barcelona’s financial situation is gradually improving, but the club is still far from being able to make signings as freely as they once did.
As a result, the academy has become the primary source of talent for Hansi Flick and his team, with La Masia players rarely letting them down.
Equally significant are the players out on loan, as they present a valuable option for the club when transfer windows open. With the right development, they could earn a spot in the first team.
Focus on a left-back
According to a recent update from SPORT, Barcelona is closely monitoring their left-back situation, where only Alejandro Balde has consistently proven himself.

Gerard Martin is currently Flick’s most promising backup, and the young player has not let anyone down in his limited appearances so far.
However, the club is still exploring other options, and Alex Valle is one of the prospects they’re monitoring.
The 20-year-old left Barcelona on loan this summer and is now playing for Celtic in the Scottish league. In just four league starts, he has registered two assists and even featured in a Champions League match for his team.
Valle has been steadily increasing in importance, showing greater maturity and a deeper understanding of the game each week. If his development continues, he could earn a return as a backup left-back.
While Valle was originally expected to stay at Barcelona, financial fair play regulations led to his loan move. In the long term, he remains a strong candidate to replace Martin, despite having only recently renewed his contract with the club.
