Barcelona’s star is reportedly furious due to Hansi Flick’s disregard for him: the player Flick strongly wanted is now not getting any playing time.

Currently, Barcelona is experiencing frustration over the coach’s decisions regarding the starting lineup, affecting some players who haven’t had the opportunities they expected. This situation highlights the challenges the club faces in improving internal performance and ensuring balance among the players.

According to Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Wojciech Szczęsny is in an unusual situation at Barcelona, where his frustration has become increasingly apparent. The Polish goalkeeper, who joined the team temporarily after Marc-André ter Stegen’s serious injury, does not understand why he hasn’t had any playing time under coach Hansi Flick.

When Szczęsny received the offer from Barcelona, the scenario was clear: his contract was meant to be temporary for one season to cover for Ter Stegen’s absence. The conversation with Flick was decisive, with assurances that Szczęsny would have a chance to compete for the starting position and contribute his experience during a crucial phase of the season.

However, the reality has been quite different. Since Szczęsny’s arrival, Inaki Peña has remained the starting goalkeeper in all matches, delivering excellent performances, which has made it seem as though Flick doesn’t need the experienced goalkeeper’s services. This situation has left Szczęsny on the bench, without any playing time, leading him to feel that his signing lacks a clear purpose.

Szczęsny has started to express his dissatisfaction in close circles and hasn’t ruled out bringing forward his departure if the situation persists. Although his contract runs until June, the Polish goalkeeper is prepared to consider retiring as early as January if the neglect continues, as he sees no reason to stay at the club without real chances to play.

Szczęsny’s situation raises questions not only about Flick’s management but also about Barcelona’s emergency planning. While Peña has excelled in his role, the decision to sign an experienced goalkeeper and then not use him seems contradictory. Meanwhile, Szczęsny remains professional in his conduct, but his patience is wearing thin.
