Barcelona’s major signing for 2025 has been officially confirmed
FC Barcelona has made a significant move in the transfer market by strengthening its defense for the upcoming season. This highly anticipated signing could bring notable changes to the team’s defensive lineup in the near future. The Catalan club is aiming to enhance its squad with top-tier players to maintain competitiveness across all tournaments in the coming years.
According to Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Barcelona has finalized a major transfer for Jonathan Tah, a German center-back currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen. Tah will be the club’s first signing for 2025, and his arrival is expected to bring a transformative impact to the team’s defense.
The signing of Tah could also signal the departure of Andreas Christensen, who has been a key figure for manager Xavi Hernández over the past two seasons but has yet to feature this season due to injury. The move was orchestrated by Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, who recently held discussions with Tah and his agent in Leverkusen.
During their meeting, Barcelona made an initial offer to the player. Although the deal has not been finalized, the atmosphere was optimistic, and the club appears to be in a strong position to secure Tah’s signature. The player has reportedly expressed his desire to join Barcelona and work with Hansi Flick, his former coach with the German national team.
