After the shocking loss to Leganes… Hansi Flick opens fi,re on the Barcelona duo and holds them responsible for tonight’s loss

Leganes secured a historic 1-0 win over Barcelona in La Liga. Barcelona currently leads the league with 38 points, while Leganes is 15th with 18 points. Barcelona’s next match is against Atletico Madrid next Saturday at the Luis Companys Stadium, a critical game in the race for the top spot.

Following the unexpected loss to Leganes, German coach Hansi Flick expressed strong frustration and disappointment with his team. According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Flick specifically blamed Barcelona’s attacking duo, Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo, for the defeat. He criticized them for missing several opportunities that could have ensured a victory.

As a result, Flick made the surprising decision to leave both players out of the lineup for upcoming matches. In response, Barcelona president Joan Laporta visited the locker room after the match and confronted Flick in an emotional, angry manner, holding him accountable for the loss due to poor tactical choices. Laporta expressed frustration over Flick’s delayed substitution of Lewandowski, despite his underperformance, and warned that the team was heading for disaster, similar to the issues seen under Xavi’s leadership.

Laporta also suggested that Lewandowski be excluded from the starting lineup, with Pau Victor potentially replacing him. He ended by reprimanding Lewandowski for his missed chances, which contributed to the loss and could endanger Barcelona’s La Liga title aspirations.
