Liverpool close to closing in on €45-50m Arsenal & Chelsea transfer target

Liverpool is reportedly emerging as the frontrunner in the race to sign River Plate’s talented young star, Franco Mastantuono, who has also attracted interest from several top clubs.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is considered an exceptional prospect with a promising future in European football, making it intriguing to see which club will secure his signature.

Recent reports from CaughtOffside indicate that both Arsenal and Chelsea have been closely monitoring Mastantuono, who is expected to be valued around €45-50m. Now, other major clubs are also involved in the race.

According to Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes, Liverpool is currently leading the chase for the teenager, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also showing interest.

The report suggests that while Real Madrid and Barcelona were the first to approach Mastantuono, Liverpool now appears to be in the strongest position to sign the Argentine talent.

Liverpool could be an appealing option for Mastantuono, as manager Arne Slot is building an exciting team that looks set to compete for both the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.

However, with plenty of attacking talent already in the squad, Mastantuono might find that a move to another club could better support his development.

Arsenal, who are currently lacking a bit of flair in that area, might offer him an opportunity for more playing time, while Chelsea have also demonstrated a strong focus on developing young players and planning for the future.
