Lamine Yamal names the three world-class players he wishes he could play alongside
Lamine Yamal has named the trio of legendary players he wishes he could play alongside in his burgeoning and promising career.
The 17-year-old is in the early stages of his career and has quickly risen to stardom, with a bright future ahead.
Yamal made his Barcelona debut at just 16, after progressing through the club’s renowned La Masia academy.
In his time at Barca, Yamal has scored 13 goals in 72 appearances across all competitions, and he already holds a La Liga winners’ medal.
He has also become an important figure for Spain, scoring three goals in 17 appearances for his country.
Yamal was part of the Spanish team that won last summer’s European Championship in Germany, defeating England 2-1 in the final in Berlin to secure Spain’s fourth Euros title.
He is on track for his most productive season in front of goal at Barca, having scored six goals in 21 matches so far.
Yamal is part of a Barcelona team currently leading the La Liga standings, ahead of Atletico Madrid on goal difference, with Real Madrid just one point behind after Barca’s surprising 1-0 home loss to Leganes over the weekend.
Yamal is part of a talented squad at Barcelona, but he has now named three players he wishes he could have played alongside.
The trio includes two Barcelona legends, as well as a player who was part of one of the most formidable attacking trios in football history at the club.
In a detailed interview with Spanish outlet Marca, Yamal said, “Wow, there are many. But if I had to choose a top three, I think Ronaldinho, Neymar, and Messi.”
Lionel Messi needs no introduction and is considered by many as the greatest footballer of all time, thanks to his 672 goals in 778 appearances for Barcelona, having also come through the La Masia academy like Yamal.
Ronaldinho was arguably the best player in the world for a couple of years in the mid-2000s, winning the Champions League and two La Liga titles.
Neymar was part of the famed ‘MSN’ attacking trio at Barcelona alongside Messi and Luis Suarez after joining in 2013, winning the Champions League and two La Liga titlesThe Brazilian still holds the record for the world’s most expensive transfer, following his €222m move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, when the French club activated his buyout clause.
