Hansi Flick decides to let 4 players leave Barcelona next January
Hansi Flick has pinpointed four Barcelona players who are not integral to his future plans and hopes they will depart as soon as possible. He is dissatisfied with their performances and has tasked Joan Laporta and Deco with finding buyers for them. The goal is to reduce costs and make space for new signings.
The first player on the list is Ansu Fati, whose ongoing injury issues have kept him off the field more than on it. When he has played, his performance has been below expectations, leading many to question his value to the team. Flick, disappointed with Fati’s progress, has decided that it’s best for both parties to part ways.
Hector Fort is also considered surplus to requirements. He has barely featured in Flick’s plans and was even suspended after a poor showing against Las Palmas. The club is now looking for a loan move to allow him to gain experience elsewhere.
Although Ferran Torres has had some strong performances recently, Flick remains unconvinced of his overall contribution. Despite scoring several goals, Torres has not been consistent enough to cement a crucial role in the squad, and his future at the club is uncertain, especially with a lack of other attacking options.
Lastly, Ronald Araujo’s name has surprisingly appeared on the list. While it’s unlikely he will leave soon, his contract expires in 2026, and no renewal talks have taken place yet. Flick seems to favor other defenders like Pau Coparsi and Iñigo Martinez, making Araujo’s potential departure less impactful in the short term.
