Barcelona face financial setback as Sporting Lisbon reportedly aim to renew Francisco Trincao’s deal
Barcelona may encounter a financial setback as Sporting Lisbon is reportedly negotiating a contract extension with Francisco Trincao. This development could impact the clauses linked to his sale, potentially hindering Barcelona’s ability to earn future revenue.
The Portuguese winger is said to be in talks with Sporting regarding a renewal, which could prevent Barcelona from benefiting financially.
When Barcelona sold Trincao to Sporting, they included a clause entitling them to 50% of any future sale’s profit, as well as a €25 million buyback option until 2026.
A renewal of his contract could nullify both the buyback clause and their share of any future transfer fee.
Barcelona ‘no longer prioritizes extending Ronald Araujo’s contract’ – he could depart next summer.
