Ligue 1 account savagely hits back at Cristiano Ronaldo with response so brutal it’s broke the internet instantly
Ligue 1’s official social media account sharply responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent comments about French football, sparking a viral reaction online.
On Friday, during the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo received two major individual honors: Best Middle Eastern Player and Top Goalscorer of All Time.
During the event, the 39-year-old also shared his opinions on various topics, including his former club, Manchester United, and this season’s Champions League.
However, it was his critical remarks about Ligue 1 that caught attention. Ronaldo, now in his third season with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, claimed that the Saudi league is superior to Ligue 1, suggesting that the French league only has Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to offer.
He stated, “Saudi League is better than Ligue 1. France only has PSG. The rest are finished,” before commenting on the challenge of winning in Saudi Arabia due to the extreme heat.
In response, Ligue 1’s official Spanish account on X (formerly Twitter) wasted no time in retaliating with a cheeky post. They shared an image of Lionel Messi celebrating his 2022 World Cup victory, along with the caption: “Leo Messi playing in 38 degrees.”
This was a direct reference to Messi’s World Cup triumph, highlighting his achievement in extreme conditions, and subtly mocking Ronaldo’s failure to secure a World Cup title. The post quickly went viral, further intensifying the rivalry between the two football stars.
