Real Madrid Target Another Liverpool Star After Trent Alexander-Arnold, Major Setback for Arne Slot

Real Madrid is said to be eyeing another Liverpool player in the upcoming transfer window, following their interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Although a move for Alexander-Arnold to the Spanish club on a free transfer next summer appears more likely, a fresh report indicates that Real Madrid is also looking at midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

Mac Allister, who has impressed with his performances in the Premier League this season, has drawn the attention of the Spanish giants. They see him as a possible heir to Luka Modric, whose career is approaching its end at 39 years old. Since joining Liverpool from Brighton in 2023, Mac Allister has secured a regular starting position under both Jurgen Klopp and the current manager, Arne Slot.

With his versatile abilities in both defense and attack, Mac Allister would bring additional depth to Real Madrid’s already gifted midfield, which features players like Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde. However, convincing Liverpool to sell the 26-year-old will be difficult.

Reports suggest that the Reds are requesting a minimum fee of €100 million (£83 million), and with Mac Allister’s contract running until 2028, Slot may be hesitant to entertain any offers if he plans to retain the midfielder in the long term
