La Liga clubs ‘threaten legal action’ over Dani Olmo registration
A number of La Liga clubs are reportedly warning Javier Tebas, the league’s president, that they will take legal action if the league approves Dani Olmo’s registration with Barcelona.
This threat arises as Barcelona seeks to resolve registration issues for Olmo and teammate Pau Victor, who were both left unregistered by La Liga earlier this week. The disagreement revolves around Barcelona’s plan to raise their salary cap by selling VIP boxes at Camp Nou.
The club believes that the €100 million raised from the 20-year sale will provide the necessary funds to register Olmo and Victor. However, other La Liga clubs are opposing the move, claiming it would give Barcelona an unfair advantage.
Barcelona remains confident that the issue will be resolved within the next 24 hours, with club officials scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss the situation. President Joan Laporta and other top executives left the meeting feeling optimistic, believing they will register Olmo and Victor before the weekend.
Barcelona attribute the delay in the registrations to the Spanish holiday season.
