Two Barcelona players are keen on Dani Olmo’s departure and they make it clear

In a move that raises eyebrows, two Barcelona players are hoping Dani Olmo won’t be registered, which could allow them to leave the club in January and join another team for free.

This option is appealing to them, as it would offer more regular playing time and a more prominent role, something they’ve been lacking after being relegated to secondary positions within the squad, which they have been unhappy with. According to Spanish newspaper “El Nacional,” the first player in this situation is Fermin Lopez, who had been one of Xavi Hernández’s standout players last season.

Although Lopez started the season as a substitute, he managed to establish himself in the starting lineup, earning a call-up to the Spanish national team for the European Championship and the Olympic Games, where he played a crucial role in Spain’s gold medal victory. However, Lopez was forced to accept a secondary role at Barcelona, particularly with Dani Olmo’s arrival, which seemed to make him the biggest loser in the deal. Despite interest from several top clubs, Olmo was viewed as an essential part of the team, provided he doesn’t leave.

The same situation applies to Pablo Torre, who has been one of the players likely to leave Barcelona during the current winter transfer window due to his limited involvement in recent matches.

Although he had some opportunities earlier in the season and made a positive impression, Torre’s chances have diminished as other players regained fitness. His departure now seems almost certain, with rumors circulating about his next destination. However, these discussions have been put on hold because of the Dani Olmo situation, which could mean Torre stays within Hansi Flick’s system.

Regarding Olmo, it currently seems unlikely that Barcelona will be able to sign him, as optimism continues to fade. While Joan Laporta and Deco are still working toward their goal, all signs suggest significant challenges in achieving it. To complicate matters further, Dani Olmo may decide to leave Barcelona soon, although he also has the option to stay at the club, despite the possibility of being sidelined for a long time.
