Former Barcelona forward Rivaldo thinks that Atletico Madrid attacker Julian Alvarez would be a great signing for the club.
Alvarez left Manchester City for Diego Simeone’s side in the summer and has enjoyed an impressive stint so far in the Spanish capital.
Rivaldo thinks that if Barca want to boost their attack, then Alvarez would be a great signing.
“He’s a great player and I would really like to see him at Barcelona; he would definitely be a great addition,” he told Betfair.
“Everything would depend on a detailed analysis by the club, especially on the financial aspect and how this transfer could be carried outBut yes, I would very much like to have him here.”
The Brazilian also looked ahead to Sunday’s match and feels that Barcelona are in good shape for the must-win tie.
“It’s the famous six-point game, but Barcelona is calm, in the running in all competitions, and already leads La Liga, so a win is good for putting Atlético away, but even if they lose, there are still many games left,” he added.
“The way they’re playing, with joy, usaid.e locker room, and a lot of respect for the coach’s demands, we can go far. Barcelona is very much alive in all three competitions and has everything it takes to win another treble.”
Barcelona head into the game still unbeaten in 2025 and will be hoping to extend that run and dent Atletico’s title hopes with another victory.
