Official: Real Madrid confirm fresh injury setback for key defender

Real Madrid’s injury crisis deepened as the club confirmed that key defender Eder Militao had been sidelined due to a muscular injury in his left leg. The club’s official statement revealed that Militao suffered a quadriceps problem, and his recovery timeline remains uncertain pending further evaluation.

Militao’s injury woes started last month when he withdrew from Brazil’s squad but quickly recovered to continue playing for Real Madrid. However, during last week’s match against Lille, the defender was forced off the pitch before the hour mark with a fresh injury.

Despite the setback, Militao featured briefly in Real Madrid’s recent La Liga clash against Villarreal, playing for less than 20 minutes. Unfortunately, his condition worsened, resulting in him dropping out of the Brazil squad once again. The latest tests have confirmed a quadriceps injury, which is a significant blow for Los Blancos, who are already facing defensive issues.

Real Madrid is currently without Dani Carvajal for the rest of the season due to an ACL injury, while David Alaba remains sidelined as well. This leaves Carlo Ancelotti with limited options in defense, with Militao’s absence further compounding the team’s struggles.

However, according to journalist Arancha Rodriguez, Militao’s injury is not as severe as initially feared, and he could return to action within ten days, possibly in time for Real Madrid’s matches following the international break.

This glimmer of hope is much needed for Real Madrid, as they look to navigate through their defensive challenges in the coming weeks.
