Liverpool Reject January Bids for Trent Alexander-Arnold Amid Real Madrid’s Interest

Liverpool has made it clear they are not willing to consider any offers for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the upcoming January transfer window, despite growing interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are reportedly eyeing the 26-year-old right-back as a potential solution to their defensive woes, following the season-ending injury of Dani Carvajal.

According to Football Insider, Real Madrid might explore a winter bid, but Liverpool are determined to keep Alexander-Arnold for the long term. While Real Madrid are dealing with a defensive crisis, with only a 33-year-old Lucas Vázquez as a recognized right-back, Carlo Ancelotti could be forced to shuffle his squad to fill the gap. However, this imbalance has heightened the urgency for Madrid to find a solution.

Liverpool’s Stance on Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool’s position remains firm—they will not entertain any bids for Alexander-Arnold in January, regardless of the offer. Even if Real Madrid makes a tempting bid to test the club’s resolve, there’s little chance of a deal going through, especially as Alexander-Arnold’s contract is set to expire in just six months. If Madrid bides its time, they could potentially sign the right-back for free next summer.

Contract Concerns and the Future

Liverpool are eager to offer Alexander-Arnold a new contract as a top priority. Currently earning £180,000-a-week, the right-back’s expiring deal is a source of concern for the club. Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer him a salary similar to that of Mohamed Salah to convince him to stay.

However, there are questions surrounding Alexander-Arnold’s willingness to commit to another contract at Anfield. Having already won every major trophy with Liverpool, he may be tempted by a fresh challenge, especially with the prospect of playing for a club like Real Madrid, which consistently competes for the UEFA Champions League.

For Liverpool, keeping their star defender is a top priority, but it will be a tough battle. They are faced with two options: either tie him down to a new long-term deal or risk losing him for free next summer.
