FC Barcelona Reaches Out to Real Madrid Target Davies to Explore Potential Transfer in 2025

FC Barcelona has reportedly contacted the representatives of Bayern Munich star and Real Madrid target Alphonso Davies about a potential free transfer in 2025, as noted by SPORT and anonymous sources.

This year, the Canadian left-back has been frequently linked to Real Madrid, with MARCA suggesting that the club might intensify their pursuit during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Bayern Munich’s unwillingness to reduce their asking price for Davies, who is approaching the final year of his contract, blocked a transfer before this season. Instead, Real Madrid chose to sign Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.

Reports indicate that Madrid is still interested in acquiring both Davies and Liverpool’s right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer of 2025, viewing them as top players in their positions.

Similarly, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to become a free agent on the same date, with MARCA reporting that the club is growing uncertain about renewing his contract.

At Barcelona, Sporting Director Deco has reportedly reached out to Davies’ representatives to understand the player’s intentions regarding his next move. Barca realizes that even without a transfer fee to Bayern, securing Davies will be challenging, especially as he seeks over $10.8 million (€10 million) as a signing bonus and a salary exceeding $21.7 million (€20 million) annually—difficult for a club facing financial issues.

However, Barcelona has an advantage over Madrid, as they have former Bayern coach Hansi Flick at the helm. Flick previously managed Davies during Bayern’s treble-winning 2019/2020 season, and the Canadian captain might be intrigued by the chance to reunite with him and pursue past successes in a new environment
