Real Madrid monitors signing of Euro 2024 star in winter transfer window

Real Madrid is currently struggling with several injuries this season, especially in defense, with Militao and Alaba sidelined, and Dani Carvajal out for the rest of the season. The team is set to resume play after the international break, facing Celta Vigo tomorrow in the tenth round of La Liga.

Additionally, Real Madrid is considering a potential winter transfer for Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte, who plays for Saudi club Al-Nasr. The club has been impressed with Laporte’s performances, particularly during his time at Manchester City, and is looking to strengthen its defense.

According to The Athletic, Laporte has emerged as a viable option for Real Madrid as they aim to enhance the squad of coach Carlo Ancelotti in the January 2025 transfer window.

Real Madrid is looking at Laporte as a potential option to strengthen their center-back position, although they haven’t yet taken steps to pursue him. Laporte, who signed with Al-Nasr in August 2023, has a contract with the Saudi club that runs until June 2026, with an estimated market value of 20 million euros, according to Transfer Market.

He has represented Spain 39 times in various competitions, scoring two goals during his international career.
