Bayern Munich has received surprising news ahead of their Champions League match against Barcelona next Wednesday.

Coach Vincent Kompany will be missing two key players for the game, one of whom faces a lengthy recovery after getting injured in the match against Stuttgart on Saturday. German midfielder Alexander Pavlovic had to exit that game in the eighth minute due to a broken collarbone, as confirmed by the club’s official statement.

According to Bild, Pavlovic will need urgent surgery and is expected to be sidelined for up to three months.

The highly anticipated clash will take place at the Olympic Montjuïc Stadium, where Barcelona will host Bayern Munich. Compounding Bayern’s challenges, Jamal Musiala has also been ruled out due to a thigh injury he sustained against Eintracht Frankfurt. Coach Kompany confirmed that Musiala will not be available for the Barcelona match.

The absence of both Musiala and Pavlovic represents a significant setback for Bayern, while providing a considerable advantage to Barcelona.
