Deco planning four more contract renewals after Fermin, Pedri and Gavi included

Barcelona announced on Thursday that they have extended Fermin Lopez’s contract, but reports indicate the club has further plans in the works.

According to Ferran Correas from Sport, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco is focused on renewing contracts for Gavi, Pedri, Araujo, and Frenkie de Jong.

The extensions for Gavi and Pedri are expected to be straightforward, as both players are eager to remain at the club, with plans for extensions until 2030.

In contrast, Araujo and De Jong’s situations are more complicated. Araujo wants to stay, but his agents have approached major clubs like Bayern, who could offer a higher salary. De Jong, on the other hand, has not indicated a desire to remain at Barcelona, reportedly wanting his deferred wages paid before considering an extension. He might leave the club for free when his contract expires.

Both Araujo and De Jong will become free agents in 2026.
