Hansi Flick gives Barcelona star one last chance against Red Star before leaving in January
German coach Hansi Flick is preparing for Barcelona’s upcoming match against Serbian side Red Star Belgrade tomorrow, Wednesday, in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Barcelona enters the match with 6 points from 3 games (two wins and one loss), currently ranked 10th in the Champions League standings. Meanwhile, Red Star Belgrade is at the bottom of the table in 33rd place, with no points to their name.
Flick, who is overseeing Barcelona’s technical direction, has decided to give Ansu Fati one final chance to prove his worth before potentially being sold in the January transfer window. According to Catalan newspaper *Sport*, Fati may be given a starting spot, possibly against Red Star, in an effort to prove himself. If he fails to impress, it’s expected that he could be allowed to leave during the winter transfer period.
The match against Red Star could therefore serve as Fati’s last opportunity to show his value before a decision is made on his future. The report also mentions that Spanish clubs like Sevilla, Real Sociedad, and Real Betis are reportedly interested in signing the young forward in January.
