Legend Iniesta asks Flick to give Barcelona’s talented star his full chance
Barcelona suffered a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad, snapping a run of positive results. Despite the loss, the Catalan club remains at the top of the La Liga table with 33 points from 13 games, six points clear of Real Madrid, who have one match in hand that could reduce the gap to three points.
Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta, speaking highly of Hansi Flick’s work with the team, still believes Barcelona can win La Liga this season, despite the unexpected setback against Sociedad. In a press conference, Iniesta praised the performance of one of the team’s young talents but expressed confusion over Flick’s decision to exclude the player from the squad, given his potential.
Iniesta urged Flick to give more chances to Barcelona’s rising star, Pablo Torre. “He is a top-class player and, with the right opportunities, can surpass De Jong and Fermin Lopez,” said Iniesta. He pointed to Torre’s impressive recent performances, especially his two goals against Sevilla, but lamented his sudden absence from the matchday squads. “I don’t understand why he has disappeared from the team,” Iniesta added.
The former Barcelona midfielder concluded by urging Flick to give Torre a chance in future matches, emphasizing that the young player could become a key figure for the team this season.
