The four signings Florentino Perez is working on: three for free plus Wirtz
Real Madrid’s president is focused on improving the team by addressing all positions to prevent the issues experienced this season. According to *AS* newspaper, the club is working on four key transfers, though these are not expected to be finalized during the winter window but rather next summer.
Three of these potential signings involve free agents: Alexander Arnold, Alphonso Davies, and Malick Thiaw. The fourth target is Florian Wirtz, who is currently under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2027.
*Defensa Central* reports that negotiations for Arnold and Davies are already progressing, with both players likely to be signed in January, as their contracts expire in June. As for Thiaw, the situation is less clear. He was close to joining Bayern Munich, who are still strongly interested in him, and Real Madrid is not certain about finalizing this deal yet.
The most challenging deal, however, is for Florian Wirtz. The German midfielder is under contract with Leverkusen until 2027 and has a market value of around €130 million. Several top clubs are eyeing him, and Leverkusen will likely push for the highest possible fee if they decide to sell.
With Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos potentially leaving in the near future, Real Madrid is eager to strengthen their playmaker position, making Wirtz a top target. While Wirtz is reportedly open to leaving Leverkusen next summer, it remains to be seen how much the club will demand for his transfer and whether he will prioritize a move to Madrid over offers from other clubs.
