OFFICIAL: Barcelona Release Statement On DANI OLMO & PAU VÍCTOR
Barcelona have been urging calm regarding the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, but some are beginning to think they’ve pushed their luck after La Liga removed both players from their website. Despite this, Barcelona maintains to local media that they are confident both will be registered and available for the second half of the season. They were hoping La Liga would approve their €100m sale of VIP seats at Camp Nou for the next 20 years, which they intended to count towards their salary cap. However, La Liga insisted on payment guarantees before approving the deal, according to Sport.
Barcelona’s sources suggest that there will be updates on January 3rd, when the full payment will be received, theoretically bringing them back within the salary cap. MD notes that the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) cannot approve a new license without La Liga’s consent, which has not yet been granted, despite Barcelona applying for one. El Chiringuito reports similar details, stating that Barcelona has submitted all required documents, and the delay is due to La Liga requesting more information.
For Barcelona, it’s a tense wait. La Liga’s statement, which claims Barcelona hasn’t provided new evidence for registration, contradicts their own assurances. If Olmo and Victor remain unregistered, they will be unable to play for the remainder of the season, a situation seen by many as potentially marking the end of President Joan Laporta’s tenure
